The Rohingya’s Plight
It has been almost 2 months since violence has erupted between the Rohingyas and the Buddhists in Myanmar’s Rakhine state. 80,000 people have been displaced and 78 killed (Sources: United Nations, NBC News, The Wall Street Journal). Despite persecution in their own country, they have been turned away from seeking refuge in neighbouring Bangladesh (who are already housing thousands of Rohingya refugees at the moment).
You can read the Report on Fact-Finding Mission to Myanmar by GPM (Global Peace Malaysia) here.
We are collating the relief efforts that are being done to help the Rohingya Muslims. Please comment below if you know of other initiatives.
