Obedient Wives Club
Obedient Wives Club, a new club founded by a fringe Islamic group known as Global Ikhwan, says it can cure social ills such as prostitution and divorce by teaching women to be submissive and keep their men happy in the bedroom.
Rohayah Mohamad, the club’s vice-president says, “Sex is a taboo in Asian society. We have ignored it in our marriages but it’s all down to sex. A good wife is a good sex worker to her husband. What is wrong with being a whore … to your husband?”.

Well, nothing except that the Prophet SAW never demeaned women that way.
She goes on to say, “disobedient wives are the cause for upheaval in this world” because men are not happy at home and their minds and souls are disturbed.
The club had their inaugural meeting in Kuala Lumpur, where they gave women tips on how to keep their men satisfied and prevent them from straying. (If you were present at the meeting, please share your notes!)
“A good wife is perceived to be prim and proper — you just take care of the children — but not much is emphasised on fulfilling sexual needs of the husband. If he needs sex, obey him,” Rohaya told AFP.
Alhamdulillah, women are not joining the club in droves. In fact, a Facebook page called “We do not want sexist nonsense from Global Ikhwan” has been created and one Amirul Aftar, wrote: “I do not want a wife to submit to my every beck and call. I want a wife who understands me … we are not your masters, we are your equal.”
A Malaysian lawyer and activist also has this to say:
“It is unfortunate that the approach by OWC is to direct the focus of marriage on sex.
“This creates a very negative self-image for both women and men because it assumes that the only way to keep the marriage is to sexualise it and ignore the other important components of a marital partnership such as common goals and hobbies, communication and personal development, respect and love and joint responsibility in child rearing,” said Nilakrisna James.

Rohaya herself is in a polygamous marriage and her husband has three other wives. She said the club boasted 800 Malaysian members so far with another 200 from across the Middle East.
It is appalling to think that a place so modern and vibrant like Malaysia would come out a club such as this. Marriage is such a sanctified bond in Islam, something so pure and beautiful, and this club had to come along and demean it such.
And here we thought “the West” uses sex to sell anything and everything. Who knew a Muslim woman would ever say “but it’s all down to sex” when it comes to marriage?
Did not Prophet Muhammad SAW say “The best of you are those who are best to their wives”?
Did the Qur’an not say “And among His Signs is this that He created for you spouses of your own kind, that you may dwell in tranquility with them, and He has put love and mercy for one another: verily in that are Signs for those who reflect”? (Quran 30:21)
Well, to not waste too much space on such crazy things, here’s something that will insyaAllah be beneficial instead.
