Interview with Shafiq Morton
Alhamdulillah, I was blessed to have had the chance to interview award-winning journalist and author, Shafiq Morton. He was in Singapore recently to launch his new book “Surfing Behind the Walls – My Palestinian Journey”.
In the video below, you can watch part of the interview that I had with him. In it, he answers the following questions:
1) We understand you are on a book tour to KL, Singapore and Penang for “Surfing Behind the Walls”. Could you maybe tell us how the idea of the book came about and the work that has gone into it?
2) It is early days yet but how has response been so far to your book and the talks you’ve given on the topic?
3) In last night’s talk, you mentioned several times how, as a South African, you could relate somewhat to the struggles of the Palestinian. Could you elaborate more on that please?
4) Being in a conflict zone such as Palestine is surely a heart-breaking but memorable one. What are some of the images or stories that you cannot forget during your trips there?
In Part 2 of the interview with award-winning journalist & author, Mr Shafiq Morton answers the question “Cape Town has got close historical links to Southeast Asia. Could you talk a bit about the socio-cultural links between the two?”
In this particular video, Shafiq Morton talks about Leadership in Islam.
Subsequent videos will be uploaded in due time.
