Dip It in Vinegar
Jabir B. Abdullah reported that Prophet SAW asked his family for condiment. They said ‘We have nothing with us but vinegar”. He asked for it and began to eat it and said, “Vinegar is a good condiment, vinegar is a good condiment”. (Sahih Muslim)
It might taste saltishly sour but it has benefits pertaining to food and health. Its amazing to see how so many natural products can give rise to other products that are potential to the discoveries of science and nature. Vinegar is one such thing which has been certified by our Prophet SAW as the best condiment for food and apart from it being used only in food it has health benefits that not many people know about.
Vinegar is not a natural product but a fermented product of sweet fruits and grains. It contains acetic acid that can be even used to remove rust stains from steel. I definitely use it for my home remedies. It produces good taste in food if used in the right amount and the best thing is that it is valued in our religion.
My Experience
I had an experience that I would love to share. Diabetes causes several problems in a human body that you may not be able to measure the extent of. Being a heart patient, my father got atherosclerosis (thinning of arteries). A doctor told us about this great medicine created by using apple cider vinegar, ginger and garlic juice, lemon juice and honey. Taking it every day just about 2 tablespoons only helped him recover in the quickest time ever. The vinegar helped in widening the lumen of the coronary arteries which very much improved the pumping function of his heart Alhamdulilah. This experience made me believe in it more.
Medicinal usage of Vinegar
In the early centuries, vinegar has been used to treat poisoning, fever, rheumatoid arthritis, bee and jelly fish stings. Vinegar can be used in its pure form or in the form of a cider vinegar. Cider vinegar or Apple vinegar is a very effective curer of several diseases.
Vinegar in the form of cider is used to cure many diseases. There are good amounts of vitamins, proteins, sodium, magnesium, calcium, iron and so many other elements that makes vinegar a good source of supplement. With these elements in vinegar it is helpful in reducing cholesterol and regulating blood pressure. Using it in food preparation helps in the intake of sufficient amount of calcium and vitamins which are excellent for bones. The potassium incumbent helps in ailment of the hair loss, weak finger nails, teeth, sinusitis and flu.
Cider vinegar is known to eliminate toxic waste form the body. Using it with garlic and honey can help in reducing weight due to fat breakage from the body. It is also helpful in curing fungal and bacterial infections. Many call it a wonder drug as it helps in the relieving joint pains, reducing uric acid level, headaches, constipation, diarrhea, fatigue and indigestion.
Vinegar is also a disinfectant for the human body and for the house as well. Many people in the older times used to gargle vinegar to disinfect it from germs. Its best to take it the first thing in the morning before breakfast or drinking water. Now this might be unappealing for many but the benefits are far greater than the tangy taste.
So the amazing vinegar can be an optimal medicine for many if used in the right way. So use it in salads, meals, juices or as a remedy, it has functions that is sure to provide results.
